What matters to me, as an IB parent?

As an IB parent for two kids, I am aware of what matters to me. What matters is an environment where my children's curiosity is nurtured and inquiry is encouraged, their unique abilities and preferences are taken into account, and social and emotional needs are addressed as much as intellectual and physical abilities. It really matters for my children to feel secure and valued, and able to take risks and build resilience. In an IB school, learning has to be engaging and purposeful, relevant to the future in which they will live, and creativity as well as initiative are valued over mere compliance, and understanding, empathy and compassion are fostered. It is an environment where my children learn to be reflective and understand themselves as learners, and education looks different than it did when I went to school... What matters to you, parents?
